VietNamNet Bridge – The film crew will come to Tuan Chau Island in the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 16, to start filming at Ha Long Bay.

Filming by about 220 film crew members including nearly 20 actors is underway and will last at Ha Long Bay until March 18.

The crew has hired 200 luxury hotel rooms in Quang Ninh.

It is reported that two locations in Quang Ninh will appear in the Hollywood blockbuster – the Ha Long Bay and Cong La area.

The two places were chosen after a survey made nearly half of a year ago. On March 16, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts will check the sites for the last time before the shooting the next day.

Cong La is situated about 30 km from Tuan Chau Island and about 20 km from the Hon Gai pier. It borders Cat Ba Island of Hai Phong.

Photographer Do Giang was invited to join director Jordan Vogt-Roberts to survey the sites on March 16. Giang is regarded as the one who knows most about the Ha Long Bay. He was named in the Vietnam record book as the one who took the higher number of photos of the Ha Long Bay from above.
