South Korean author Hwang Sun-mi, whose works are loved by Vietnamese readers, will meet with fans in Hanoi and HCM City.

She will talk with readers, sign books and talk about writing for children and the world of animals in children’s literature in Hanoi on November 24 and HCM City on November 26. The talk shows, organised by Nha Nam Company, will include Vietnamese authors like Vu Thi Thu Hang and Ta Thanh Tan.

Hwang is a beloved writer in South Korea, where she has won many awards and published more than forty books enjoyed by adults and children.

She was born 1963 and started writing in 1995. She is best known for her fable The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, which has also been made into a successful animated film in South Korea entitled Leafie, A Hen into the Wild.

Her books translated into Vietnamese include The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly, Friends in Sun-rising Valley, The Blue Hairy Dog and The Bad Boy Stickers.
