The group will be selected to study at local schools during the upcoming academic year in 2024.
The foreign enrollment is part of several measures to address a decline in student numbers in the Republic of Korea in recent times. This is also the first time that Korean high schools have attracted international students.
Along with studying, foreign students will also be offered professional vocational training.
Earlier, the RoK’s North Gyeongsang province also selected 72 teenage applicants from six countries, namely Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Mongolia, Cambodia, and China.
The students will not have to pay a tuition fee, but they do need to pay for their living expenses.
