“I am delighted to collaborate with my dear friend Ha Anh Tuan on the special project "Sketch A Rose" in Ho Chi Minh City,” the talented pianist-composer Yiruma of the Republic of Korea (RoK) wrote on his Facebook page on December 17.
“I believe it will be an unforgettable experience for everyone who joins us. I look forward to performing with Tuan for all of you in March 2025 in the beautiful city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam,” he shared.
Yiruma is a composer and pianist of the RoK and has had a career spanning 23 years. His initial breakthrough came when the track "When Love Falls" was used as the theme for Choi Ji-woo's character in the hugely popular drama Winter Sonata.
Several videos of his compositions posted on YouTube and other social media platforms have garnered millions of views, including "River Flows in You" and "Kiss The Rain".
In 2002, Yiruma became the first Korean pianist to perform at the MIDEM festival in Cannes. He also organised a series of music tour projects around Europe, America, and Asia, including Vietnam in 2012 and 2017.
Ha Anh Tuan is one of the country’s leading pop stars and is well-known for delivering awe-inspiring music. His signature ballads and R&B songs have become hits among Vietnamese youngsters for decades.
Tuan won the Promising Singer award and entered the top three at "Sao Mai Diem Hen" (Music Star Rendezvous) 2006, a music contest organised by Vietnam Television starting in 2004.
This year the pop star launched his largest-ever project with the theme of “Ha Anh Tuan - Live Concert Sketch a Roses” which began with concerts in Singapore and Australia in June and September, respectively.
The theme of the project is inspired by the play titled “Tin o hoa hong” (Believe in Roses), which is one of the most famous scripts written by late playwright Luu Quang Vu (1948 – 1988) in 1982. “It tells a story of faith in beauty and goodness which always exists with us despite the difficult circumstances,” said the singer.
