This series aired in October. In episode 2, a Korean mother saw her son, Sang Deok, drunk in a field. While the son muttered "I really want to get married," the mother angrily shook him and said: "Do you really want to marry? If you drink all day, even though you go to Vietnam, you cannot get any girl".
Some Vietnamese viewers were very upset with the dialogue.
The Korean Consulate in Vietnam, Mr. Hong Hyeon Joo, told VNE online newspaper that he did not know about this sensitive detail through a friend until December 11.

"I immediately contacted the SBS and asked them to reconsider this issue," said Mr. Hong Hyeon Joo. The Embassy also asked the SBS to stop broadcasting the film.
The same evening, through the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, SBS sent a letter of apology to the people of Vietnam. The letter explained: "The mother recalled his previous failure in getting married with a Vietnamese woman. The scene was created just to clarify the nature of the man who remains single, not intending to despise Vietnamese women.”
“We sincerely apologize to the people of Vietnam, because of this that we have hurt you. We promise to produce other films with more thoughtful preparation. Again, we sincerely apologize to the people of Vietnam," according to the letter.
