VietNamNet Bridge – The 3D cartoon blockbuster of DreamWorks has replaced “Avatar” to become the Hollywood movie that hit $1 million revenue in Vietnam in the shortest time.

 

Avatar breaks the $1 million revenue barrier in Vietnam


The movie was launched in Vietnam on June 1. By June 6, its revenue hit $1 million. Three days before it was launched, all tickets at cinemas in Hanoi and HCM City were fully booked.

Avatar hit the $1 million revenue after nearly a month (December 18 to January 15), while it was only five days for Kungfu Panda 2.

According to the film distributor – MegaStar, this film also make another record in Vietnam: attracting the highest number of viewers in the first three days.

Produced at the cost of $150 million and launched worldwide on May 26, Kungfu Panda 2 has brought about over $331 million to DreamWorks and is listed in the top ten movies of the first half of 2011.
