
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh recalled the warm hospitality extended by Kuwait’s Emir, prime minister, senior leaders and people during the Vietnamese high-level delegation’s visit to Kuwait in November 2025.
He proposed that both sides continue promoting the implementation of agreements reached during the visit and further strengthen the Vietnam - Kuwait Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.
The Vietnamese prime minister expressed deep concern about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and shared sympathy for the difficulties faced by the Kuwaiti people under the current circumstances.
He also expressed hope that Kuwait and other relevant countries would continue exercising restraint, promoting de-escalation and seeking peaceful solutions for the region based on international law and the United Nations Charter, while ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of all parties. Vietnam stands ready to contribute positively to these efforts.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed appreciation for the concern and support shown by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Vietnam’s senior leaders toward the people of Kuwait during the current situation.
He also commended Vietnam’s constructive role, goodwill and sense of responsibility in supporting efforts to seek peaceful solutions for the Middle East.
Amid the evolving regional tensions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked the Kuwaiti government and requested continued support in ensuring the safety and security of Vietnamese citizens in Kuwait, as well as facilitating evacuation operations if necessary.
The Kuwaiti prime minister affirmed that his government would coordinate to ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens in Kuwait and assist with evacuation arrangements if needed.
Responding to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s proposal, the Kuwaiti prime minister agreed to coordinate with relevant partners to consider continuing crude oil supplies to Vietnam, while also agreeing to strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries in the coming period.
Both leaders agreed to continue directing their respective ministries and agencies to implement the outcomes achieved during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Kuwait in November 2025.
They reaffirmed their determination to translate commitments and agreements from that visit into concrete and practical cooperation projects, particularly in areas of mutual interest and strength such as energy, food security, halal industry and tourism.
