Lam beats Henry in U18 national tennis semis
Le Khac Tung Lam of Da Nang defeated Tu Minh Tri Henry of HCM City 6-0, 6-2 the semi-final of the National Men's Tennis Championships' U18 category in Dak Nong Province yesterday, April 19.
In the final, Lam will play Nguyen Marshall David of Binh Duong, who defeated Pham Nhat Minh 6-1, 7-6(1).
In the men's doubles event, Chi Khuong and Thanh Hoang of the Military team bested teammates Ngoc Vinh and Trung Tinh 6-1, 6-4 in the quarter-finals. Huu Vinh and Giang Thanh of HCM City beat Hoang Hai and Minh Hung of Binh Duong 6-3, 6-3.
2015 National Men’s Tennis Championships open in Dak Nong
As many as 60 players in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 categories are participating in the National Men’s Tennis Championships, which commenced in the Central Highland province of Dak Nong on April 17.
Players in the U12, U14 and U16 categories will play in a round robin competition while the remaining will battle in knockout rounds.
The tournament, held jointly by the provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Tennis Federation, creates an opportunity to popularise culture and tourism in the locality.
The tournament will run until April 23.
Tam wins 9th stage, Viet has the yellow jersey
Nguyen Thanh Tam had no rivals in the last dash as he finished first at the ninth stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Cup yesterday, April 19.

Tam of An Giang's Gao Hat Ngoc Troi team, clocked 2:49.48 in the 115km race from Hue City to Da Nang City. He was followed by Le Van Duan of HCM City's VUS and Ho Van Phuc of ADC-Vinh Long Television.
Although BTV Binh Duong's Nguyen Minh Viet didn't finish in the top three, he won the yellow jersey with the best overall time after nine stages at 21:32:44. He was followed by Quang Van Cuong of Ha Noi and Tam's teammate Nguyen Hoang Giang.
"I am very glad to get the yellow jersey and I will try to defend it," Viet said.
Duan continued to hold the green jersey as best sprinter with 72 points. The red jersey as king of mountain went to Nguyen Tan Hoai of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap.
Among the teams, An Giang's Gao Hat Ngoc Troi took the lead with a combined time of 64:37.18. Military Zone 7 and Dong Thap finished second and third, respectively.
