VietNamNet Bridge – The police of Da Lat city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong have announced to prosecute Mr. Mai Nam Duong - Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, for causing a car accident on May 22, which killed one and injured three.

Duong drove a 7-seat car and caused a horrifying accident at the intersection of Le Hong Phong - Tran Phu in Da Lat city.

The accident killed Mr. Truong Van Hien, 48 on the spot and heavily injured three others – Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Nguyen, 39, Ms. Pham Thi Dan Thanh, 34 and Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, 29.

According to the investigators, at the time of the horrific accident, Duong showed signs of a drunk. The car is being examined to define the cause of the accident.

The local authorities paid a visit to victims at the hospital.

This is the latest alcohol-related case caused by an official.
