In recent times, thanks to changing thinking in farming, boldly applying scientific and technical advances to production as well as promoting local strengths, focusing on converting appropriate crop structure towards improving the quality of crops, the lives of ethnic minority people in Lam Dong province change every day. It has contributed to the province's economic growth in 2023 reaching 5.63% and per capita income of over 85 million VND.
Also, thanks to the application of high technology in agricultural production, many farming households in Darahoa village in Hiep An commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province have earned higher income.
Currently, people know how to learn and apply science and technology to production and have many sources of income from coffee trees and crops. Some households have built new houses and bought more machinery to serve production. People also donated land to build concrete and asphalt roads, thanks to which the new rural face is increasingly developing and aiming to build new and improved rural communes. In the village, there are only 7 poor households, 6 near-poor households, a shap decrease compared to 2022.
Similarly, from changing farming thinking, strongly converting appropriate crop structure, combined with a sense of self-reliance, the K'ho ethnic minority in Da K'Nang of Dam Rong district has developed strongly compared to before. The timely conversion of a part of the old, low-yield coffee area to growing mulberry, raising silkworms and many types of fruit trees has significantly improved the living standards of the people here. In addition to growing mulberries and raising silkworms, people in the area also grow avocado, durian, and laba bananas, so they have extra income every month.
Not only focusing on production and improving product quality to meet market needs, many K'ho ethnic minority areas of Lam Dong province also form many production and product consumption models, helps stabilize production in a sustainable way but also ensures income.
For example, people in Loc Nam commune, Bao Lam district have effectively promoted the potential and advantages of their locality to develop many perennial industrial crops with high economic value such as tea, coffee, and durian, mangosteen, macadamia and a number of other fruit trees, with a stable production area of more than 5,000 hectares.
Among these, there are many production models with revenue from 500 million VND to 1 billion VND/year, especially a durian growing model reaching 2 billion VND/year.
Economic life is developed, social security is guaranteed, the political security situation and social order and safety of remote communes and ethnic minority areas of Lam Dong province are always maintained. Local people have promoted great national unity well, joining hands to build new rural areas, rich, beautiful, and civilized villages.
