Recently, after the Government Inspectorate announced the conclusion of the inspection in Da Nang on a number of irregularities in land management, Da Nang leaders also publicly expressed their views.
Answering the questions about the Government's response after the Da Nang officials made statements on the Government Inspectorate’s inspection results, Dam said: "First of all, the inspection is the routine work of the Government. The mission of the Government Inspectorate has been prescribed by laws and decrees. This agency annually conducts scheduled and unscheduled inspection. The inspection in Da Nang is similar to other inspections."
Accordingly, in 2011 the Government Inspectorate made 27 inspection conclusions and most of the conclusions have been published. In 2012, the agency made 24 inspection conclusions and announced 20 of them. Only some small contents related to security, defense and a number of other issues need further clarification.
"The inspection in Da Nang is a normal inspection, which was carried out in accordance with the law. The publication of the inspection results is also in accordance with the law. It is also the normal task of the Government Inspectorate to make public the inspection report," said Dam.
According to Dam, the Government’s leaders only knew about Da Nang’s response over the inspection results through the media.
"The Government is very responsible to the information reported by media. The government also requires a report on the information on the media," Dam said.
According to Minister Dam, the Prime Minister has assigned the Da Nang People's Committee, the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environment, Finance and Public Security to implement the inspection conclusion. The agencies should follow the direction of the Government. In the implementation process, if they find issues that need to be reviewed, they have to report to the Prime Minister.
"So far, the Government and the Prime Minister have not received any reports of ministries, as well as the city of Da Nang on the implementation of the inspection conclusion," Dam added.
On January 17, the Government Inspectorate published the inspection conclusions about the irregularities in the management of land in Da Nang, with losses of up to VND3.4 trillion. The Government Inspectorate asked the Prime Minister to consider the responsibility of the city’s Chair, Vice Chairs and related organizations and individuals in the period from 2003 to 2011.
On January 18, Mr. Van Huu Chien, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee signed a response document, showing disagreement with the conclusions of the Government Inspectorate.
