Talking with the Vietnamese minister, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone appreciated Vietnam’s enormous and effective assistance to Laos in all realms as well as the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s support in security and order protection.

He said he hopes the two countries’ public security ministries will intensify cooperation, especially in ensuring security and safety of major events, preventing “colour revolution”, and defeating all “peaceful evolution” and riot plots of hostile and reactionary forces.

Their joint efforts will help ensure the respective nations’ social-political stability, national security and social order and safety, and foster the special amity between Vietnam and Laos for the sake of their peoples and regional and global peace and stability, he stressed.

For his part, Minister Quang informed the host about the outcomes of his talks with officials of the Lao Ministry of Public Security.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese public security force will enhance coordination with its Lao counterpart in fighting crimes, protecting security and order, and exchanging information and experience, he said.

The minister added the two sides will also join hands to guarantee security in the countries’ shared border areas and reinforce collaboration in personnel training and professional equipment.

At another meeting the same day, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong applauded the fruitful talks between the two public security ministries and highly valued their effective multifaceted cooperation, particularly in fighting organised, trans-national and drug crimes and personnel training.

He said he hopes the ministries’ connections will be tightened, practically serving each country’s socio-economic development and international integration.

For his part, Quang thanked the Lao Government and Prime Minister for creating favourable conditions for the two public security forces’ close partnership in crime fight, national security protection, social order and safety ensuring.

Justice ministry ready to help Laos in personnel training

The Vietnamese Ministry of Justice stands ready to help Laos train a contingent of quality personnel in legal and judicial fields, Minister Ha Hung Cuong assured Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong in a reception in Vientiane on December 25.

The support will form part of a project to develop the Lao Judicial Training Academy, he said, adding that he hopes the Lao government will back the project – a joint work between the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Justice.

Cuong expressed his belief that the 2015 Constitution of Laos recently promulgated by the President Chummaly Sayasone will lay a foundation for Laos to effectuate renovation policies.

Thamavong, for his part, praised the outcomes of talks between the two justice ministers.

He said the enhanced collaboration between the two ministries will contribute to building respective rule-of-law State, fine-tuning the legal system and building an environment to exercise rights to democracy and people’s mastery.
