Hanoi Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh said the prime minister had directed the decentralization and the process had seen some important results. Therefore, he expected the Government to continue enhancing the process, the local media reported.

The city suggested further decentralization in construction and investment projects, the transfer of agricultural and forest land, the licensing of industrial parks and the separation of site clearance from projects.

HCMC Chairman Phan Van Mai also sought more autonomy in the approval and adjustment of planning, the licensing of urban areas and industrial parks and the separation of site clearance from infrastructure projects.

One of the key tasks of HCMC in the future is to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic with the new Omicron variant. The city proposed the Government license the production and circulation of Covid antivirals.

In 2022, the city set an economic growth rate of 6%-6.5%. It will focus on recovering production and supply chains and helping enterprises resume their operations, especially those in the tourism sector.

Sharing the view with Anh and Mai, Nguyen Van Quang, secretary of the Danang Party Committee, also suggested more autonomy, especially in approving industrial park projects.

In addition, Quang suggested removing obstacles in the management of land and the investment of projects and issuing new policies to enhance the development of localities and exploit their potential.
