VietNamNet Bridge – The giant God of Prosperity, which is the largest of its kind in Vietnam, is now displayed on the pavement of Lieu Giai-Van Cao street, Hanoi.

The statue has attracted public attention in recent days, as it is placed on the pavement of one of the most beautiful streets in Hanoi – Lieu Giai.
The statue belongs to a woodwork trader. It is displayed in front of his woodwork shop to both advertise the shop and to symbolise prosperity.

The statue is nearly 2m high. It is made from a sindora trunk sourced from Laos. The God of Prosperity with the smiling face, big belly, two arms stretching down his body holding a big gold and silver branch in one hand, is placed on a big wooden platform.

The statue, which weighs several tons, was made in over one month by a group of senior artisans. As it is made of sindora wood, the statue is as hard as iron and so the owner is not afraid to display it outdoors.

The woodwork trader said he previously had another big God of Prosperity statue but since he made this one, he sold the previous statue to a businessman in the Central Highlands.

“Many foreign visitors who pass bymy shop stop to take a picture of this statue. Some people offered hundreds of thousands of USD but I don’t sell it,” he said.
