Lawyer Do Ngoc Thinh, President of the Vietnam Bar Federation, shares key information about the upcoming annual LAWASIA Conference to be held in Hanoi.

On October 6, the Vietnam Bar Federation held a press conference to announce key details of the upcoming LAWASIA conference.

At the briefing, Do Ngoc Thinh, President of the Vietnam Bar Federation, stated that the annual LAWASIA conference is hosted by one of the member countries to promote connectivity, innovation, and professional development among legal practitioners across the Asia-Pacific region.

The event serves as a forum for leaders of bar associations, law firms, and individual members of LAWASIA to discuss the development of legal systems and the legal profession in the region.

It also provides a valuable opportunity for international lawyers to meet, exchange experiences, and contribute to peace and prosperity in the region.

“There will be 590 delegates attending the conference, including about 150 lawyers from Vietnam. The remaining 440 are international representatives, comprising leaders of bar associations, legal organizations, judicial agencies, and law schools from Asia-Pacific and beyond,” Thinh shared.

He emphasized that hosting the 38th LAWASIA conference in Hanoi is a chance to promote Vietnam’s image, introduce its legal and judicial systems, and highlight the country’s open policies on economic development and international integration.

The event is also expected to open up many opportunities for cooperation between Vietnamese lawyers, law firms, and businesses with international partners.

With the theme “Connecting - Sharing - Advancing sustainable legal development in the Asia-Pacific,” the conference will feature discussions on pressing legal topics, including regional legal cooperation in a globalized world, the rule of law and judicial reform, international arbitration and dispute resolution, and the role of lawyers in promoting sustainable development.
