The twins Hai and Thanh take photo with German artists.

In the course of an artist residence, Hai and Thanh Le lived and worked in Berlin for four weeks in June 2016.

During this period of time they completed their three-part video series “The bridges of Vietnam, Korea and Germany” in which they tackle the separation of these countries. What does a separation mean for a country and its population? How does the young generation deal with this part of history that they only know from narration?

The exhibition at the Goethe-Institute Hanoi shows the third and last part of the video series titled “The bridge III”. The multi canal video installation features performances of the Le brothers and other international artists at historically significant locations in Berlin.

The twin brothers Le Ngoc Thanh and Le Duc Hai, born in 1975 in Quang Binh province, got globally famous with their painting, installations, performance and video art.

In 2008 they formed the New Space Arts Foundation with which they organize and finance an independent showroom in Hue with regular events as well as an annual artist residence for artists from Vietnam and the whole world.
