Le Thi Thuy, a member of the Party Central Committee and incumbent president of the Vietnam Women’s Union, has been re-elected to lead the organization for the 2026-2031 term.
The announcement was made on June 18 during the 14th National Women’s Congress for the 2026-2031 tenure.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, vice president of the Vietnam Women’s Union, presented the results of the first meeting of the organization’s Central Executive Committee for the new term.
The committee elected a 14-member Standing Committee for the 2026-2031 period.
Le Thi Thuy, a member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and central mass organizations, vice president of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and president of the 13th-term Vietnam Women’s Union, was re-elected as president.

The meeting also elected three vice presidents for the new term: Tran Lan Phuong, standing vice president of the 13th-term Vietnam Women’s Union; Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, vice president of the 13th-term union; and Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, vice president of the 13th-term union.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected leadership, Le Thi Thuy said that in response to the country’s development requirements in a new era, the Central Executive Committee and Standing Committee would continue to uphold unity and solidarity while dedicating their full efforts to implementing the resolutions adopted at the 14th National Women’s Congress.
She said the organization would work to further develop the women’s movement and the union’s activities, contributing to the national aspiration for a prosperous, civilized and happy Vietnam.
The Central Executive Committee also expressed its hope for continued guidance from the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, agencies, mass organizations, local authorities and women members nationwide in fulfilling its responsibilities.

On June 17, congress delegates elected 111 members to the 14th-term Central Executive Committee with unanimous approval from those present.
The remaining 16 positions will be filled in accordance with regulations.
Under the approved personnel plan, the new Central Executive Committee will comprise 127 members, a reduction of 38 compared with the previous term.
The composition is designed to ensure both continuity and renewal, with 76 members re-elected from the previous term, accounting for 59.8%, while 51 members, or 40.2%, are serving for the first time.
