The Viet Nam Government wants the Malaysian Government to speed up co-operation in politics, foreign affairs, trade, investment, culture, labour, national defence and security.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told outgoing Malaysian ambassador Lim Kim Eng at a farewell ceremony yesterday, July 19, that more needed to be done in these areas.

Dung said he highly valued the ambassador's contributions in boosting relations between the two sides.

Lim Kim Eng said the two countries needed to create conditions for their businesses to invest in each other's countries and speed up bilateral trade as the co-operation potential remained huge, especially in economy, trade and investment.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung received the outgoing ambassador at a separate farewell ceremony on the same day.
