VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese Multimedia Joint Stock Company (Multimedia SJC) has bought the copyright of world-leading reality TV fashion show, ‘Project Runway’.

The programme (Vietnamese version) will be broadcast on Vietnam Television (VTV) channel 3 every Sunday starting from April 28 and contestants can register from Feb 1.

Premiering in the US in 2004 with German supermodel Heidi Klum acting as a MC, the show immediately attracted millions of viewers and become a must-see for fashion lovers and those who have a strong desire to become professional designers.

A number of countries with developed fashion industries, such as the UK, Australia, Russia, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines and Finland, have also produced local versions of the show with great success.

Being broadcast after 10 seasons, international versions of the programme have helped introduce new designers to the fashion world, such as Dmitry Sholokhov, Seth Aaron Henderson, Leanne Marshall, and Korto Mololu. Their designs now attract international acclaim at large fashion shows.

Chloe Dao, a fashion designer of Vietnamese descent, overcame thousands of competitors in the US to claim the title for the second season of the show in 2005.
