Although having been in Vietnam for a short time, PhD. Joanna Kitto, a British psychoanalyst, has helped a large number of Vietnamese civil servants eliminate stress caused by the pressure of work with a new, simple and highly applicable psychological therapy.

Like other countries, a large group of civil servants in the cities of Vietnam now face many difficulties in their life that make them feel worried, tired and stressed. Many even suffer nervous and physical breakdowns. All are symptoms of stress that has become more common in modern life.

With her experience of over 30 years researching psychology and spending years learning about Oriental cultures, Joanna Kitto from the Institute of World Spirit has found suitable therapies to effectively eliminate stress.

In Vietnam, she has introduced some interesting courses on different themes, such as “How to Let out Stress in Work”; “Stress: Ways to Adjust”; “Meditation for Busy People”; and “The Art of Energy Management”. Her courses always attract the participation of a large number of the people who work in offices.

Attending these courses, many people for the first time learn about new techniques to control their body as well as the psychology to create a balance in life via very simple exercises. These include meditation according to the method of Yoga or simply doing some exercises with their hands and neck for a few minutes to relax. Besides exercises, she also helps the participants get rid of worries and sadness using psychological therapy with short, concise and lively lectures.

Although her therapy is rather simple, not everyone knows about it so people are very interested in learning.

Joanna Kitto said that Vietnam is a dynamic, developing nation which leads to increasing pressure at work. Yet, the Vietnamese people lack the skills of living, balancing and regulating psychology using modern methods to meet the increasing intensity at work. For this reason, she hopes to do her utmost to closely co-operate with UNESCO’s International Education Centre in Vietnam to develop therapy, providing the Vietnamese people with a new instrument to make their lives better.
