Senior overseas Vietnamese singer to see local fans after three decades

Singer Che Linh in his show in Hanoi on October 28.
The department made the decision on October 28, reasoning that the Bich Ngoc Entertainment Co., Ltd., the show organizer has made violations: hanging advertising banners on the street without permission and using unregistered show name. On October 19, the agency posed VND11.5 million ($500) fine on this company.
Bich Ngoc Entertainment Co., Ltd.’s Hoang Tien said that the company has not received the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s announcement.
Tien said his company committed only one mistake related to hanging advertising banners but these banners have been removed already.
He confirmed that it is wrong when some newspapers reported that his company used unlicensed songs in the show and did not pay copyright fees.
According to Tien, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province permitted Che Linh to perform 39 songs in his show but the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi accepted only 24 songs, because the other songs are not licensed for circulation in Vietnam by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Tien said that Che Linh only performed the 24 permitted songs in his shows in Hanoi on October 21, and Da Nang on October 29. His company also paid copyright fees to the Vietnam Music Copyright Protection Center on September 21.
After the first show in Hanoi on October 28, Che Linh saw Da Nang’s audience on October 29. His two shows at the Vietnam-Czech Culture Palace, Hai Phong on November 5 and at HCM City’s Hoa Binh Theater on November 19 will be not affected.
Tien said in the next two days, his company would release official announcement of Che Linh’s second show in Hanoi on November 12.
