VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam’s top chess player Le Quang Liem drew with grandmaster Semen Lomasov from Russia in the fifth round at the Isle of Man International Chess Tournament, held recently in the UK.

Liem, Elo 2,715, drew with Lomasov, Elo 2,540, after 56 moves. In the four previous rounds, Liem had two wins, one draw and a loss to Abhijeet Gupta from India, Elo 2,588.
After five rounds, Liem ranks 39th in the table after starting the tournament at 14th.
However, he is only 1.5 points away to from top players group and a top spot is still available if he performs well in the final four rounds.
The Isle of Man tournament features 20 players among the top grandmasters in the world.
