According to the list, Linh has accumulated a total of 48,200 points, rising two places from 22nd to 20th globally, with this being the highest ever ranking achieved by the 1997-born player from the northern province of Phu Tho.
This rise can be attributed to her impressive performances at the China Masters 2023 in Shengzhen where she made quarterfinals and earned an additional 6,050 points.
Linh revealed that the China Masters was the last international tournament in 2023 that she participated in. The top Vietnamese player plans to spend about a month on rest and recovery, as well as focusing on training to prepare for the new 2024 season.
Linh also has set two goals for the next year. She hopes to earn a ticket to enter the 2024 Paris Olympic and to be seeded for the prestigious competition.
In the qualification rankings for the 2024 Olympics, she also climbed to 15th place in the women's singles category, thereby being within the group of players eligible to participate in the Olympics. However, the final list of participants will not be confirmed until April, 2024, so the Vietnamese player will need to continue competing in international tournaments as a means of maintaining her high ranking and achieving her goal of securing a spot in Paris.
Linh’s first tournament of 2024 will be the Malaysia Open, which is scheduled to take place from January 9 to January 14, 2024.
