VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam’s best male badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has earned 8th place in the World Badminton Federation’s (WBF) latest rankings.

Minh was eliminated from this week’s 2013 Hong Kong Open tournament after losing 0-2 to India’s Ajay Jayaram.

His position in the world’s top ten is under threat. Many of his closest rivals, including India’s Sony Kuncoro (currently tied for 8th), China’s Wang Zhengming (9th), and Hong Kong’s Hu Yun (11th), have already qualified for December’s Super Series Finals.

Minh is unlikely to add to his 54.856 point total as he will not be defending his championship title at this year’s Vietnam Open.
