VietNamNet Bridge – Dinh Thi Nhu Quynh bagged the first silver medal for Vietnam on December 13 in the women's cross-country event of the ongoing SEA Games in Myanmar.

Quynh failed to snatch the gold medal although she led the cycling tour in the three previous rounds.

*** In the women’s 400m freestyle swimming, Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, pocketed two gold medals on December 12, but finished third (clocked at 4'33"51) to enter the final round. Vien’s teammate Tam Nguyen came sixth, but Ngo Thi Ngoc Quynh was disqualified from the next round in the women’s 100m breaststroke.

In the men’s 100m swimming event, Hoang Quy Phuoc finished first at the qualifying round, and is expected to win a gold medal for Vietnam.

Swimmer Pham Thanh Nguyen also passed the qualifying round (clocked at 53''16) to rank 4th.

*** The same day, Nguyen Thanh Quang was placed second in the Canoeing K1 200m event for male racers.

*** There is high hope of successful performance by two Vietnamese weight-lifters - Thach Kim Tuan in the men’s 56kg category and Do Thi Thu Hoai in the women’s 48kg category.

*** On the afternoon of December 13, Vietnam’s female futsal players will meet Filipino rivals, who are predicted to accept surrender to coach Tran Van Phat’s trainees.
