The unique grapefruit was created by a Vietnamese company, using modern technique. This firm spent three years to research and create the technique.

The first Buddha-hand shaped grapefruits were donated to eight famous pagodas in November, including Vinh Nghiem, Pho Quang, Dai Giat, Ngoc Hoang in the south and Quan Su, Tay Ho, Ung Thien and Phuc Khanh in Hanoi.

The company will sell 1,000 to 3,000 special grapefruit this lunar New Year.

It is expected that this kind of grapefruit will sell well from July 2015, at reasonable prices.

This kind of grapefruit is planted in the four Mekong Delta provinces of Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh and Hau Giang.

Earlier, Vietnamese farmers offered unique fruits, such as a tree with five species of fruits and grapefruits and watermelons in the shapes of gold bullions, gourds, and cars.
