This is the highest position in the BWF rankings that the Vietnamese female has achieved in her career.

The milestone came after Linh made the quarterfinals of the 2023 Canada Open, which took place from July 4 to 9.

Despite her loss to No.1 seed Akane Yamaguchi, Linh still accumulated 5,040 points to increase her position in the world badminton rankings. Currently, she has a total of 39,690 points.

First place in the world’s singles women rankings went to Akane Yamaguchi of Japan with 104,517 points. Second and third places belonged to An Se-youn of the Republic of Korea and Tai Tzu Ying of Taipei (China).

Linh, 25, started playing badminton when she was just 10. During her career, she played a total of 254 games, with a winning rate of 61%. She has won nine major titles so far, including the 2018 and 2019 Bangladesh International, the 2022 Belgium International, and the 2022 Vietnam Open.
