The man went to take his first shot at a vaccination point at Nguyen Du Secondary School, Ward 11, on September 15. After the first shot, the staff told him to go to the monitoring area. However, he headed in the wrong direction and another staff member called him to the table to be vaccinated.
When the staff asked whether he had been vaccinated yet, he did not say anything. When the second shot was completed he suddenly cried out that he had already had the first shot a minute ago. He was then asked to stay longer for monitoring.
The local authorities have visited and the man's health is still fine with a light fever the following day.
Mai Thai Linh, vice chairman of Ward 11 People's Committee said, "The medical staff already told him what to look out for after taking the vaccine. If any problems arise, he can call Hong Duc Hospital for aftercare. I'll visit him later on the behalf of the ward people's committee."
The man said he had received attention and support from the local authorities. He refused to comment more on the story.
