Accordingly, "The Rise of victory" by Vietnamese photographer Tran Tuan Viet ranked fourth in the list. The photo shows teammates lifting a victorious man high above their heads amidst mud and cheers at the Van Village mud ball wrestling festival held in the northern province Bac Giang.
The official website of the competition said that the work signifies not only the physical elevation of the triumphant wrestler, but also the collective rise of the team's spirits, their shared joy, as well as their mutual support for one another.
“It symbolizes the strength of unity and the capacity of individuals to overcome obstacles when they work together toward a common objective,” ViewSonic ColorPro noted.
Meanwhile, the photo entitled “Phoi ca” (Drying Fish) was taken by Dang Hong Long in Long Hai market in the central province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on July 26, 2020, and ranked 15th. The wooden trays viewed from above look like a giant brocade woven by the farmer.
The image “Suong som tren ho” (Early morning fog on the lake surface) snapped by Nguyen Hieu was placed in 20th position. The photo depicts a man rowing a boat on Tia Spring, upstream of Tuyen Lam lake, located about seven km from the Central Highland city of Da Lat. It takes viewers into another world that are full of dreams.
Themed "Rise", this year’s contest attracted nearly 11,000 works of photographers from more than 100 countries and territories globally.
