The logo designed by Ngo Quang Trung, a student of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, has been selected from a total of 290 submissions to the logo design contest.
The logo that represents the strong and close bond between the two countries, will be used in all UK activities in Vietnam next year, according to the embassy.
Addressing the ceremony, British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew noted 2023 is a special year in the Vietnam – UK relations as it marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (1973-2023).
The British Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam will organize a wide range of events, including cultural programmes, exchange activities and exhibitions in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to celebrate this milestone, he said.
According to the diplomat, Vietnam and the UK have established their partnership for 12 years. The partnership was renewed last year following the enforcement of the UK – Vietnam free trade agreement (UKVFTA).
The two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the UK has so far this year fetched GBP5.9 billion, up 12.4% year on year.
The UK is aiming to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), of which Vietnam is a member.
