The Luc Yen gemstone market in the northern province of Yen Bai has been a popular trading destination for businessmen over the past 30 years. However, in recent years, the site has started to become more well-known and has begun to attract tourists.
 The unique gemstone market is a unique and historic landmark in Yen Bai province, dating back decades.  The market can be found in the centre of Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province.  The market opens every morning to welcome customers.  On a typical day the market hosts 20 booths whilst during the holidays that number can rise up to 50 booths.  A wide variety of colourful gemstones can be seen on display in the different booths.   Each gemstone is valued based on their colour and quality.  The prices of each product range from between several hundreds of thousands of dong to dozens of millions of dong, some even cost hundreds of millions of dong.  The market is organised by the Luc Yen Gemstone Association, with each booth being managed by a member of the association.    The booth owners that operate in the market have dozens of years experience, with each able to give precise advice to buyers.   The market is a big draw, with even foreign tourists being interested in gemstones.  Customers meticulously choose products to purchase.   Customers are spoiled for choice at the market.  The market has quickly become a popular destination for tourists.  |
