Eager to offer new tourism products, improve the park’s attractiveness and contribute to promoting tourism in HCMC, Dam Sen Park will be hosting a great variety of entertainment events from Jan. 28 to Feb. 5. on the occasion of the Year of the Rooster 2017.
Hot-air balloon service is one of the special highlights of the entertainment series celebrating the Lunar New Year. The service will be available from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4, except Feb. 2.
There will be 17 balloons controlled by 40 experienced pilots from Germany and China. Of these, two balloons can carry one pilot and four guests each and four balloons can carry one pilot and three guests. The rest are mini balloons for decoration.
The balloon shows will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. every day while the shows from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. are available on Jan. 28 and 29 and Feb. 1, 3 and 4, and the shows from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. are available only on January 30 and 31.
Especially, on January 30 and 31, the Night Glow show will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring balloon inflation with fire in melodies of lively music played by DJs.
The balloon shows include those flying to a height of 30 to 40 meters. They are able to fly up and down in sync with music rhythm. There will be also airship performances by remote control systems.
Other entertainment activities
Along with the hot-air balloon service, the park in HCMC’s Dist. 11 will put on a series of events themed “Dam Sen – Happy Tet, Full of Luck.”
There will be two game shows in the first program “the Year of the Rooster – Big Fun – Many Gifts.” The first game is called “Finding Chicken Family.” To take part in the game, players will have to download a mobile app which allows them to scan QR codes to find chickens. Each QR code corresponds to a kind of chicken. The playing area is at Au Lac Square which is home to 50 points of QR codes. There will be 600 prizes per day, including tickets to watch movies at Dam Sen’s new 8D cinema.
Guests can take part in the second game called “Chicken Laying Golden Eggs” if they buy full-package tickets. Guests will touch an iPad to choose one out of four eggs on the screen. If the egg they choose happens to be a golden egg, they will receive a ticket to take a hot-air balloon ride.
Besides, there will be street art activities such as soap bubble performance, acoustic music performance, and body painting art performance with three themes Dong Ho painting art, brilliant colors of spring and the five-fruit theme.
The park will host “Eating 365” culinary festival featuring popular dishes like mango shake, spicy noodle, flying noodle, giant squid, bun cha Obama (Obama fried fish paste noodles), and bread grilled with chili salt. Other dishes are pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), goi cuon (spring roll), and bun bo (beef noodle soup).
Famous Vietnamese comedians group will perform from noon to 1 p.m. every day at Star stage. Meanwhile, well-known singers will perform from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the stage. Guests will have interactive sessions with these singers. Magic shows will also take place at the stage.
Especially, the park will launch an 8D cinema in this Lunar New Year. Five latest films will be screened at the cinema. The park will sell movie tickets for guests who only want to enjoy movies at the cinema.
Many cultural activities and performances, folk games like dragon dance, parade celebrating spring, and ice sculpture exhibition will also be available at the park.
