VietNamNet Bridge – For Vietnamese, the wedding is the most important event in their lives. As their income is improved, many people are ready to pay thousands of US dollars to hire luxurious cars for their weddings.

Last year, Camry, Altis 2008 and 2009, Mercedes E240, E280, S320, S500 were the top choices of couples but this year couples favor Camry, Volkswagen New Beetle 2006, Mercedes S500, Lexus, BMW 750i and especially Limousine and Bentley Flying Super.

Nguyen Huu Huynh, director of a car service firm in Hanoi, told VietNamNet that this year, couples of average income often hire Toyota Camry or Volkswagen New Beetle 2006, at the prices of 4-4.5 million dong ($200-230) a car within five hours.

Those with higher income can hire Mercedes S500, Lexus and BMW 750i, at the cost of 5-7 million dong ($300-400) per three hours.

The most favorite car at weddings is the Limousine, priced from 12-20 million dong ($600-1000) per three hours. However, customers have to book at least a month in advance before their weddings.

Lien, manager of the Hanoi-based Thu Ngan Transport Service Company, told VietNamNet that most of the customers who are willing to pay 20-30 million dong ($1000-1500) to hire luxurious wedding cars are those from Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces, not Hanoi.

The online community recently rumored that a real estate trader in Quang Ninh province paid 100 million dong ($5000) to hire a wedding car.
