On October 21, Quang Ninh province celebrated the arrival of its 3-millionth international visitor this year at the Ha Long International Passenger Port. The milestone was reached as a luxury Viking cruise ship carrying nearly 900 tourists docked at the port.

The honored visitor, an American tourist traveling through Asia on the Viking cruise, was welcomed by Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, who presented the guest with flowers and a souvenir gift.

"We've traveled to many places, but nowhere have we received such a warm, hospitable welcome as in Ha Long. This has been a destination I’ve long wanted to visit with my family, especially after seeing many promotional images on social media," said the American visitor.

The Viking cruise ship, which traveled from Hong Kong (China) to Ha Long, carried nearly 900 tourists, most of whom are from the United States.

According to the planned itinerary, the group of tourists will explore Ha Long Bay, visit the Quang Ninh Museum, and see other attractions around the area over a two-day stay.

For the upcoming 2024-2025 cruise season, over 60 ships are expected to arrive in Ha Long, bringing more than 100,000 visitors. This will include many high-end vessels from well-known cruise lines such as Viking, Costa, Seven Seas, Noordam, and Celebrity Solstice.

Between now and the end of the year, nearly 20 more cruise ships are scheduled to visit Ha Long, including several large vessels carrying tourists from European markets.
