A photo entitled “Net Mending” (Dan Luoi) of Ly Hoang Long was chosen the winning image of the Asia Pacific region at the 2014 CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year competition.

The striking image captures female workers mending fish nets at a workshop in southern province of Bac Lieu.

The theme of this year’s competition – Cities at Work – challenged photographers from around the world to capture the beauty and day-to-day reality of working life. It attracted 11,500 entries from 79 countries.

The Vietnamese photographer has previously received many awards for his inspiring and incredible photography.

In March of this year, the world-leading magazine National Geographic chose his photo “Golden Net” depicting a fisherman standing in the middle of a fish net in the early morning as best in its competition.
