His successful run at Wimbledon has pushed Ly Hoang Nam 34 places up in the world rankings, according to a statement from the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) yesterday.
The Vietnamese is now ranked 1,242nd – the best ranking in his career as well as a new high for tennis in the country.
Nam and his Indian partner Sumit Nagal won the boys' doubles trophy on Sunday. They have been given a wild card to compete in the men's doubles event in London next year.
The International Tennis Federation has not announced its latest ranking for juniors, but it is expected that Nam, currently at No 12, will be among the top 10.
VN volleyballers prepare to defend VTV Cup 2015
Defending champions Viet Nam are training hard in HCM City to defend their title at the upcoming 2015 International Women's Volleyball Tournament-VTV Cup.
The team have three weeks to prepare for the event, which will attract six teams including North Korea, China's Nanjing and Liaoning, Thailand and the Philippines.
The event will take place from July 25 to August 1 in the southern province of Bac Lieu.
HCM City squad top national finswimming event
HCM City are leading the National Finswimming Championships after two days of competition at Phu Tho Swimming Club in HCM City.
The team bagged seven golds, eight silvers and one bronze. Ha Noi are in second with five gold, three silver and eight bronze medals, while Quang Binh are placed third with five gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
About 140 swimmers from 19 teams nationwide are competing for 32 sets of medals at the tournament, which ends tomorrow.
