The Vietnamese pairing with Jeson Patrombon of the Philippines lost 2-6, 6-2, 7-10 to American Alexander Centenari and German Sami Reinwein on the clay court.

He will play today in the men's singles event against Zhou Sheng Hou of the hosts in the first round.

Zhou earlier yesterday defeated another Vietnamese Trinh Linh Giang 5-7, 3-6 in the qualification round.
