VietNamNet Bridge – Tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has become the Vietnamese player with the highest position in the Junior Ranking of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
The new position of Ly Hoang Nam in the ITF Junior ranking is the 52nd (367.5 points). Compared to the previous ranking, Nam jumped up by 23 spots and 57.5 points.
In the ranking of Asian young players, Nam ranks 11th, the same with Ryotaro Matsumura of Japan.
Nam only needs less than 20 points to enter the world top 50 and top 10 for young players in Asia. The current position is the highest achievement of Ly Hoang Nam and a new milestone for Vietnam’s young tennis players.
Nam returns to Vietnam from the U.S. today, January 22, to prepare for the Davis Cup. After that, he will enter a new cycle of training with great target of winning the right to attend the three remaining Grand Slam tournaments in 2014, including Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
At the coming Davis Cup, Ly Hoang Nam will be the pillar of the Vietnam tennis team. Vietnam will face Pakistan. This is at the higher ranking and has the world famous doubles Aisam and Ul-Haq Qureshi.
