VietNamNet Bridge – The young Vietnamese player rose to the highest ranking ever in the ITF junior rankings published in early 2014.

This list eliminated players born in 1995 so Ly Hoang Nam jumped 24 spots up to 72nd with 298.75 points.
In the ranking of Asian players, Ly Hoang Nam ranked 17th after players from Japan, South Korea, China, India and Uzbekistan. Among the players in Southeast Asia, he is the top U18 player.
In the next two weeks, Nam will have very good chance to improve his score because the top players are focusing on the Open Junior Australia while Nam will play two G1 tournament in Costa Rica and Venezuela.
In the ongoing 50th Coffee Bowl tournament in Costa Rica, Nam trounced the host player Mauricio Arrea Cascante 2-0, earning 20 points. If he defeated American rival Robert Levine (22nd in ITF junior ranking) in the second round, he will have 10 more points.
In the following competition in Venezuela, Nam will be also the No. 3 seed and if he enters the semi-finals, he will get 80 points. Thus, if he plays well at the two G1 tournaments, he is possible in the top 50 ITF World Junior ranking for the first time.
