Vietnam’s tennis ace Ly Hoang Nam has reached another milestone in his illustrious sports career by reaching the semi-finals of the boys' doubles at Wimbledon.
Nam and his Indian partner, Sumit Nagal, outplayed Japanese pair Yusuke Takahashi and Jumpei Yamasaki 6-2, 6-3 on July 10 in the quarter-finals to advance to the semi-final round.
Not only is this the first time Nam has made the semi-finals at a Grand Slam, but he is also the first Vietnamese athlete to accomplish it.
In the next round, Nam/Nagal will play No 5 seed Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia) and Casper Ruud (Norway) who won over William Blumberg/ Tim Paul from the US.
