TNT theatre has been celebrated worldwide for their re-invention of the Shakespearean classics. Since its foundation in 1980, TNT has performed in more than 30 countries and been described by the UK's Guardian newspaper as "the most interesting development on the current theatrical scenes".
The company seeks to integrate all the performing arts in a style of theatre that merits the name of TNT – "explosive theatre" or TNT which also means The New Theatre.
Macbeth, TNT Theatre's first Shakespeare production, has been performed in 31 countries worldwide since its premier in 2000.
Last season alone the company gave almost 1,000 performances of 14 productions on three continents.
The theatre has also participated in festivals and collaborated on co-productions with major venues such as the Athens Concert Hall and the St Petersburg State Comedy Theatre.
Music is important to TNT and all productions have a newly commissioned musical score.
The director always works with a choreographer and the ensemble actors are chosen for their ability to cross the disciplines of theatre, music and dance.
Viet Nam is one of three Asian countries TNT will visit this year.
The director is Paul Stebbings, whose work has won many awards at the Munich Biennale, the Edinburgh Festival and the Tehran Festival.
There will be two shows at HCM City's Municipal Theatre at 11am and 8pm tomorrow and Friday. On Saturday there will be an evening show only.
Ha Noi will have evening performances at 8pm on October 31 and November 2, with the curtain going up twice, at 2pm and 8pm, on November 1.
After HCM City and Ha Noi, the theatre will have one show at Trung Vuong Theatre at 8pm on November 4.
In 2009 and 2010, TNT Theatre brought two classical works Romeo & Juliet and A Christmas Carol to Viet Nam.
