Vietnamese photographer Tran Viet Ha's latest collection, entitled XIAN: Myths of the Beauties features renowned Japanese actress and Miss World Model 2010 Maya Murofushi.

Ha teamed up with top Asian talents and the local team in the Spanish capital of Madrid for the collection.

The project, which has just been released, has made quite a splash. The artworks appeared right away on the photography website of Vogue Italia and Aesthetica Magazine, the prestigious United Kingdom-based magazine for art collectors, galleries and museums, in both print and online.

XIAN – Myths of the Beauties, conceptualised and styled by Hong Kong-based artist Edith Chan, whose mother was Chinese Vietnamese, was inspired by four great beauties of ancient China who changed the history of four different dynasties. They were Diao Chan, Yang Guifei, Wang Zhaojun and Xishi. These women were renowned for their unparalleled beauty, which they used to exercise influence over kings and warriors.

Tran Viet Ha, Edith Chan and Maya Murofushi first met in Madrid in summer this year, and immediately felt inspired to create some special Asian art project together to showcase Asian beauty to the world.

The photographs of Madrid-based Tran Viet Ha capture an ephemeral moment, where feminine emotions flow through time. As reality plays hide-and-seek with fantasy, her images reflect volatile moods recaptured from a permanent state of change.

Her works have appeared in Vogue Italia and Vanity Fair France, at Saatchi Gallery London, and have been auctioned by Christie's in Hong Kong.

Most recently, Ha has been listed as a global artist by Artprice, the world leader in art market information, and has featured as Artist of the Day on Saatchi Art, the world´s leading online art gallery.
