This information was shared by Truong Huu Chung, Head of the Investment Promotion Division under the Department of Information Technology Industry, during a regular press briefing held by the Ministry of Science and Technology on December 1.
Now in its seventh edition, the forum will be held in Hanoi under the theme: "The journey to shape Make in Viet Nam, transform digital production, and build a strong, prosperous digital Vietnam."
Since its inception in 2019, the forum has served as a platform to connect Vietnamese digital tech enterprises, contributing to the creation of a vibrant digital ecosystem. It plays a crucial role in driving regional and national socio-economic development, mastering digital transformation, and advancing the nation toward a prosperous new era.
This year’s forum is expected to gather approximately 1,500 attendees and will feature several new highlights.
Among them are demonstrations of strategic technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as an exhibition of over 50 outstanding Vietnamese digital products for hands-on experience.
This year also marks a reflective milestone for the Make in Viet Nam Awards, reviewing achievements from 2020 to 2025 and laying out development goals for the 2026–2030 period. The Minister of Science and Technology is expected to present certificates of merit to organizations, enterprises, and individuals with outstanding contributions.
The forum will include in-depth sessions such as Mastering and developing strategic technologies and Vietnamese digital tech enterprises reaching global markets.
The awards ceremony for the Make in Viet Nam 2025 Digital Products, along with investment networking sessions between digital businesses and both domestic and international government agencies and enterprises, will also be held during the event.
Ho Chi Minh and State Science Awards also announced
At the same press briefing, Nguyen Van Khai, Deputy Director of the Center for Science and Technology Communication, provided updates on the upcoming Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Award for Science and Technology.
These are Vietnam’s highest honors in the field of science and technology, awarded by the Party and the State to scientists who are authors of the most outstanding individual or collective scientific works. The awards are presented every five years.
They are reserved for works of exceptional scientific and technological value that have made significant, long-term contributions to national development, including the economy, defense, security, and scientific advancement.
Since 1996, six rounds of awards have been held. The seventh round will accept standard application dossiers until 5:00 PM on May 8, 2026, and classified (confidential) dossiers until 5:00 PM on May 15, 2026.
Related procedures will begin in June 2026 and conclude in September 2026. The results will be submitted to the Prime Minister by the end of November 2026, with the awards ceremony tentatively scheduled for September 2, 2027.
According to Nguyen Van Khai, due to the significance of these scientific works, the time between the announcement of results and the actual award ceremony is extended to address matters such as copyright, work quality, and public feedback. This ensures transparency and upholds the prestige of the awards.
