feed reserved for making chicken eggs rich in Omega 3. Meanwhile, scientists are
also following their research works to find out the know-how to create these

Meanwhile, Le Phuc Chien, MA, from the Animal Biotechnology Division of the Tropical Biology in HCM City, has also stated that he has found the formula to make up the animal feed in order to generate the eggs with the Omega 3 content higher by 5-6 times than normal eggs.
They key lies in the feed
At present, an egg rich in Omega 3 is sold at 50,000 dong, while the prices could be different by a little, depending on the volume of eggs people purchase, according to Le Thanh Van from Vietfarm.
In order to create Omega 3 eggs, Vietfarm imported nutrition from Canada and mix the nutrition into the feed for fowls. According to Vietfarm, the eggs made by the company have the Omega 3 content higher than 90 mg, or 50 percent higher than normal eggs.
Meanwhile, Chien has announced that all the materials used as the feed that helps increase the content of Omega 3 in eggs are available in Vietnam. Chien said the materials could be found in fish oil, soya bean and micro algae. The materials need to be mixed in accordance with reasonable proportions, while the formula has not been revealed.
The feed that helps increase the content of Omega 3 in eggs accounts for 1/10 of the everyday food ration of fowls. According to Chien, the additional feed would make the fowl breeding cost by 500 dong per day in comparison with normal feed.
Nourishing eggs need to be affordable in prices
On average, an egg laid by a fowl could have the Omega 3 concentration of 60-100mg. If breeding fowls with the feed with additional nutrition created by Chien, the Omega 3 content in eggs can increase by 30 percent.
Hai Dang Company, a science and technology service company has confirmed that after six weeks of raising fowls in accordance with the formula provided by Chien, the fowls could lay the eggs with the Omega 3 content of up to 300 mg per egg. Meanwhile, the criteria for Vietnamese food ingredients released by the Ministry of Heath in 2007, stipulate that the standard is 70 mg per 100 gram of egg.
Chien has affirmed that since the feed materials can be found in the domestic market, it would be cheaper to make eggs with the Omega 3 content at 300 mg than using import feed.
About the importance of Omega 3 to human body, Dao Thi Yen Thuy, Physician from the HCM City Nutrition Center said that Omega 3 is a kind of fatty substance essential to human body. This is a kind of substance that human body cannot synthesize and it should be brought from outside.
New research works show the substance can help protect the heart, because it can help reduce triglycerides, a fatty substance, and raise useful HDL cholesterol in people with increased blood cholesterol. Besides it can help lower blood pressure of patients.
The National Office for Intellectual Property NOIP has accepted the lawful patent registry for Chien’s research work.
