On his personal website and social media, Tien is introduced as a narrator who teaches people how to get rich, and a real estate expert who sells training courses on real estate investment.

With ads, Tien’s images can be seen everywhere on social network platforms. He said he is the teacher and the owner of a YouTube channel with 180,000 followers, where he provides training courses on investment strategies, know-how in sales and negotiations in the real estate sector.

He also provides special courses on building business strategies, making investments to create profits of millions of dollars, and owning private islands.

The expert has advertised that he will talk about how to seek opportunities in debt crises, how to raise funds and where to invest with VND1-500 billion.

He also can give advice to overseas Vietnamese investors about the most profitable business fields in Vietnam, and about things businesses need to do if they cannot make a breakthrough after 5-10 years of development.

The profile of the teacher has been found recently. The man advertised as having the secrets for real estate sales turns out to be the owner of a small business with modest revenue. Its annual revenue hovers around several billions of dong a year and profit just tens of millions of dong.

The newly released financial report of the Van Lang Investment and Technology Development JSC (VLA), which is owned by Tien, showed sluggish business with a loss of VND1.55 billion in the first quarter 2024 and revenue of less than VND1 billion.

Prior to that, VLA took a loss of VND115 million in the fourth quarter 2023. It made a modest profit of tens of millions of dong in the quarters before and earned revenue of several billions of dong.

In 2023, Van Lang reported profit of VND132 million. In 2022, the figure was VND3.6 billion.

VLA began listing its shares on the bourse in 2010. It now has charter capital of VND40 billion and capitalization of VND59 billion as of July 1.

VLA’s predecessor was a subsidiary of the Vietnam Education Publishing House, established in 2007. At first, it specialized in printing and publishing books, trading computers and education equipment.

In 2020, VLA began providing training courses on sales, financial management and speaking skills.

In late 2023, it raised VND20 billion from share issuance to shareholders.
