Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is scheduled to visit Ho Chi Minh City between June 7 and 9 with the Premier League trophy of the 2011 – 2012 season following an invitation by Eximbank.

The Belgian national footballer is expected to meet with local fans and participate in some football and charitable activities in the city.

The 26-year-old midfielder in both his club and the national squad was awarded captaincy of Manchester City in the 2011 – 2012 season.


Kompany is amongst those with the largest contribution in helping his team clinch the first Premier League trophy after 44 years.


Vietnam is part of his Southeast Asian trip to Malaysia and Singapore with the Premier League cup.

Kompany began his professional career at Anderlecht in 2003, before moving to German club Hamburger SV three years later.

In the summer of 2008, when he was only at the age of 22, Kompany completed a transfer to his current club, Premier League side Manchester City.


He has since established himself as an integral part of the Manchester City squad, and was included in the Premier League Team of the Year for two years in a row in 2011 and 2012, and won the Premier League Player of the Season in 2012.


At the national squad, Kompany has scored two goals in 47 games.
