VietNamNet Bridge – Police in Ha Noi's Cau Giay District have arrested Dong Pham Nguyen, 26, a resident of central Binh Dinh Province who pretended to be a brain tumour patient to ask the public for money.

Nguyen constantly created virtual nicknames on the internet, lying that he needed a large amount of money to undergo a brain surgery abroad.

After obtaining VND200 million (US$9,800) in HCM City, he came to Ha Noi to try the same trick, but was discovered by the police.

Hospital results show that he is normal. He has two previous convictions for stealing.
