For that long time, he suffered pain every time he went for a pee and several times he passed water with blood in recent years.
Until recently, he went to the Binh Dan Hospital in Long Xuyen City, An Giang for a surgery. Doctors took out from his bladder a stone weighing 1kg.
Duc, a resident of Vinh Gia commune, Tri Ton district, was hospitalized on October 5 in poor health, passing water with blood.
Doctors had a consultation and decided to conduct a surgery on the same day. They took out a stone weighing 950gr, 12cm x 10cm x 9 cm in size.
The surgical team included Dr. Vu Van Ty from the Ho Chi Minh-based Binh Dan Hospital and Dr. Pham Tan Bay, Director of Binh Dan Hospital in Long Xuyen city.
"This is the biggest and heaviest stone in the body that I have ever seen," Dr. Pham Tan Bay said.
Currently the patient is recovering very well.
In 2002, the Binh Dan Hospital in Long Xuyen City performed a surgery to take a stone of 250g from the kidney of a 64-year-old man from Binh Phuoc Xuan commune in An Giang province.
