VietNamNet Bridge – Police in Hanoi have arrested 26-year-old Dang Tran Hoai, who had raped a little girl, killed her 4-year-old sister, and stabbed a man who is the victims’ relative.

her 4-year-old sister in Son Tay Town, Hanoi on Sunday.

Hoai, of Ha Dong District, committed the shocking crimes in a house in Son Tay Town at about 2:45 pm on Sunday afternoon, after he attended a wedding party in Tu Liem District.

The house’s owner, 30-year-old Khuat Van Hien, and his wife had left home, leaving their children there.

The raped girl, who was just 8 years old, was taken to Son Tay Hospital, but, due to her critical condition, was later transferred to the Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital, where doctors said the girl had received serious injuries to her genital organs and that she needed to be treated through surgery.

Locals seized Hoai and handed him over to the town police, who later transferred him to the capital’s police as it was an extremely serious case.

Hoai was arrested after he committed the shocking crimes.

Hoai told police that after leaving the wedding party, he wandered on his motorbike along Thang Long Avenue, and when he arrived in Thach That District, he bought some guava from a street vendor and then stole a 35-cm knife from the vendor.

He continued on to Son Tay Town and called a local resident, saying he was drunk and asking to stay there for a while to rest.
He was allowed into a room, but the house’s owner later found him undressing and sent him away.

When he was passing Hien’s house, he saw only the two kids inside. He left the vehicle outside and rushed into the house to rape the 8-year-old girl, despite her screams of pain, which could not be heard by outsiders since it was raining heavily at that time.

Since the 4-year-old girl also cried loudly, he used the stolen knife to slash the child many times in the face and neck until she died.

Hoai then continued raping the older girl, but the victims’ uncle, who lived nearby, finally heard the screams and rushed in and fought with Hoai. Hoai stabbed the man and ran to the street.

Locals ran after Hoai, who then attempted to steal two motorbikes but failed. He then stopped a car and got in, but his pursuers rushed up and seized him.

Police later examined the scene of the crime and seized the knife used by the rapist/murderer.

Hoai, who had no previous convictions, told police he committed the crime under the influence of alcohol he had drunk at the party.

Hoai’s wife had given birth to a baby 10 days before he committed the crimes, he said.
