VietNamNet Bridge – Former Manchester City player Joleon Lescott and Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai joined local fans in a gathering on Saturday when the English Premier League and the Carabao Cup trophies paused in Hanoi during its ongoing tour entitled Centurions Trophy Tour.

The two players enjoyed their time with children of SOS village, playing football and talking with them before sharing their experiences and thoughts with other fans at the SHB Bank head office in the city centre.

"Joining the presence of two prestigious trophies here in Vietnam will be a special mark in my career as I love the PL players’ playing style and always want to touch them by myself. I will strive harder in an effort to contribute to national football," said Hai, who recently made headlines after received offers to play for foreign clubs.

Lescott, meanwhile, said he was excited to witness the Vietnamese fans’ love for the club and football. He said he hoped this kind of event would help bring the club closer to fans over the world.

After Hanoi, the trophies will arrive in Shenzhen, China. 

The trophies are scheduled to visit 22 cities to celebrate the Club’s record-breaking season.

At the tour destinations, there are a series of exciting fan events and match screenings as well as visits to the Club’s community projects across the globe.
